After the A Spec Garage Sale on Saturday, some of us went to eat at Daikokuya in J Town. I rocked it normal style, eating the Daikoku Ramen combination. I’m not exactly a ramen expert (it was good), but not the best I’ve ever had. I like my ramen a bit more oily, like at Santoku (in Costa Mesa Mitsuwa).
The real reason you’d want to eat at Daikokuya is due to the shredded pork bowl. Man…they love to green onion on everything here, but damn the pork is crazy tender and flavorful. Of course I washed it all down with an iced Calpico.
While we were waiting for the table, we passed by one of the local sneaker shops, which was having a blowout sale. These days I tend to let sneakers find me, rather than me go find sneakers, and I had to cop these. It was $10 off (not bad, not best), but the colorway said my name on it, and even though it was a 1/2 size too big, the impulse buyer had to do it.
This is the foot of Al Lagura, not mine (he took the pic, I just watermarked it lol). After making this post, I was made aware that he currently already owns a pair. Now I need to go burn mine, in shame of being a cupcaker-six-fo-pancaker.
After that, we went to “Stooky” Charlie’s apartment nearby to Wii it up. I had played Wii sports before, but I got to play a doctor game where you treat patients. Super awesome, but man you would never want me to suture you up, buhleedat. I can ziptie a bumper, but yikes, I got shaky hands with the needle!
There was also this weird ass game, where you shoot plungers at rabbits, in Counterstrike fashion. Look at this rabbit, gettin served hard in the face.
And on a side note, for those not in the know, the Cool Kids are real fresh. I’ve got this track (”Black Mags”) on HEAVY rotation right now (including a lot of their other stuff). A refreshing taste of hip hop, amidst the sea of YUUULE and KISS KISS this holiday season.
